I get to work with amazing, talented people who keep the energy positive on set!
Team work makes the dream work!
Yes, it’s true I’ve worked in different departments. Why? Because I aspire to be a producer/director. What does that have to do with anything? Well after nearly five years on set, I’ve had countless conversations with crew members and actors asking what makes a great director or producer. One recurring theme surprised me: they wished those in leadership truly understood and valued the work each department contributes. Sometimes crew feel rushed, under appreciated, or asked to do things beyond their control.
That insight inspired me to step into their shoes and experience some challenges they face, in order to better understand and appreciate my crew when I became a producer. Experiencing their challenges firsthand deepened my appreciation for their work and showed me how production sets the tone for the entire set. I learned that a good producer or director enhances the project, respects each department, and fosters collaboration rather than pressure.
My mission working in film or in any creative capacity: create an environment where people feel heard, supported, and empowered. In production, we never say “no”—we find solutions. Over the past 3 years, I’ve also had the privilege of mentoring college students, and recent graduates, sharing what I have learned and knowledge I've gained to help the next generation succeed.
I lead by example and with kindness, even under stress, because leadership leaves a lasting impact. No matter how experienced you are, there’s always more to learn. Being willing to learn is key and being teachable is essential to grow in this industry or in any other industry.
